CROCHET SQUARE WITH PUFF STITCH | Video tutorial

Special Stitch: Puff Stitch (puff st)

  1. Yarn over (yo).
  2. Insert your hook into the indicated stitch or space.
  3. Yo and pull up a loop (you now have 3 loops on your hook).
  4. *Yo and insert your hook into the same stitch or space. Yo and pull up a loop* (you now have 5 loops on your hook). Repeat from * to * once more (you now have 7 loops on your hook).
  5. Yo and pull through all 7 loops on your hook.
  6. Ch 1 to secure the puff stitch.

Round 1: Ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc 2 in the ring, ch 2, *dc 3 in the ring, ch 2*; repeat from * to * twice more. Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 corner spaces)

Round 3: Sl st into the next 2 dc and into the first ch-2 corner sp. Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the same corner sp, *ch 1, skip the next 3 dc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the next ch-2 corner sp*; repeat from * to * twice more, ch 1, skip the last 3 dc.
