Easy and Beautiful Grandma’s Square Crochet Pattern

This pattern creates a classic granny square with a simple, elegant design.
Materials:
- Yarn (choose your favorite colors)
- Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- sp: space

Pattern:
Round 1:
- Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 2:
- Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, 3 dc in ring, ch 2. Repeat from * to * twice more. Sl st in top of beginning ch 3.
Round 3:
- Sl st into next dc and next dc, sl st into ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp (corner made).
- Ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp (corner made). Repeat from * to * twice more. Ch 1, sl st in top of beginning ch 3.
Round 4 and beyond:
- Sl st into next dc and next dc, sl st into ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp (corner made).
- Ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-2 corner space, ch 2, 3 dc in the same ch-2 corner space (corner made). Repeat from * to * until the end of the round. Ch 1, sl st in top of beginning ch 3.
Continue Round 4 pattern to make your square as large as you want.


Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
- Block the square to enhance its shape and stitch definition.
